SHORT BIOGRAPHY

Swiss pianist and conductor Louis Schwizgebel has appeared as a soloist with orchestras including the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, Orchestre National de France, Philharmonia, London Philharmonic and BBC Symphony Orchestra, and at festivals such as the BBC Proms, Verbier and Lucerne. He is also active as a conductor, often directing from the keyboard, most recently on tour with the Orchestre national de Metz. He records for Aparté; his releases include Beethoven concertos with the London Philharmonic and Saint-Saëns concertos with the BBC Symphony Orchestra. Born in Geneva in 1987, he won the Geneva International Music Competition at seventeen, was a BBC New Generation Artist, and is a professor at the Haute école de musique de Genève.

Le pianiste et chef d’orchestre suisse Louis Schwizgebel s’est produit en soliste avec l’Orchestre symphonique de la Radio bavaroise, l’Orchestre National de France, le Philharmonia, le London Philharmonic et le BBC Symphony Orchestra, ainsi qu’aux BBC Proms et aux festivals de Verbier et de Lucerne. Également chef d’orchestre, il dirige souvent du clavier, récemment encore en tournée avec l’Orchestre national de Metz. Il enregistre pour Aparté, notamment les concertos de Beethoven avec le London Philharmonic et ceux de Saint-Saëns avec le BBC Symphony Orchestra. Né à Genève en 1987, lauréat du Concours de Genève à dix-sept ans et ancien BBC New Generation Artist, il est professeur à la Haute école de musique de Genève.
